This design truly stands out. Just like the armor of the samurai, it has many layers. It’s also representative of the many layers to the samurai warrior himself, who balanced ‘bun’ and ‘bu’, culture and arms. The samurai were both artists and warriors. This made them extremely dangerous because they understood, to very profound depths, exactly what they were fighting to defend, so they naturally defended it to the death, with honor.
The samurai lived by discipline, honor, loyalty, strength, culture and service; these were their layers, and that’s what this piece represents.
