Some men are born with an uncanny ability to tell right from wrong, morally sound from the morally corrupt, or even ethically just from the unjust.
Then there are the rest of us who see nothing but fucken gray. Don’t get me wrong, when you’re watching a children’s movie and there’s clearly an antagonistic bad guy in the cast, black and white is pretty self evident. That’s not what I’m talking about here though. I’m talking about issues where one can clearly see and empathize a dilemma from both sides and now you’re left with your eyes fucken cross eyed. One issue that comes to mind is that of abortion. I’m sure some of us can mentally simulate extreme circumstances when either side may seem like the right answer.
The scales design has this very odd repetitive structure that is inversely symmetrical, such that if you cut it in half either lengthwise or width wise, and placed each side on a scale, they would both be equal in size, volume and weight, yet they would look different and opposite to each other.
Scales is a reminder to every man that you must do your fucken due diligence in listening to, understanding and even empathizing with both sides of an issue, argument, dilemma or problem, before deciding upon which will be the side to weigh most on your conscience.
